Renton Civic Theatre is thrilled to announce auditions for our upcoming production of Dracula, a chilling stage adaptation of Bram Stoker’s iconic gothic horror novel.

Enter the shadowy world of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, where gothic romance meets chilling suspense. When a mysterious nobleman arrives in England, his dark secrets unleash a wave of terror that grips all who cross his path. With its haunting atmosphere, compelling characters, and timeless battle between good and evil, this thrilling tale will keep you spellbound.

Audition Details:

  • Audition Dates:
    • Tuesday, June 17th from 7-10pm at Renton Civic Theatre
    • Saturday, June 21st from 12-4pm at Renton Civic Theatre
  • Callbacks:
    • Monday, June 23rd from 6-10pm at Renton Civic Theatre

Audition Requirements:

Please prepare 2 short, contrasting monologues. One comedic and one dramatic, for example. British dialect is encouraged if possible. All actors must be at least 18 years of age by the start of rehearsals.

Roles:

All roles are open to individuals of any gender. Please do not let the perceived gender presentation of a character stop you from auditioning for the role!

  • Jonathan Harker: 20’s-30’s, wholesome, thoughtful, recently made solicitor. Becomes Dracula’s captive.
  • Wilhelmina Murray: 20’s-30’s, studious, intelligent, centered. Engaged to Jonathan. The heart of the story.
  • Lucy Westenra: 20’s-30’s, naive, playful, yet vulnerable. Falls prey to Dracula.
  • Arthur Holmwood: 20’s-30’s, Brave, loyal, a man’s man. Engaged to Lucy.
  • Dr. Jack Seward: 30’s-40’s, lonely, reserved, a scientist and skeptic. In love with Lucy.
  • Dr. Abraham Van Helsing: 50’s-60’s, fiery, passionate, a man of science and faith, from Amsterdam. His dialect should be present but not so strong as to be unintelligible.
  • Count Dracula: age fluctuates but appears generally 30’s-50’s, a vampire. Alluring and cruel, charismatic and yet something is off. An oppressive presence over the whole play.
  • Renfield/Sister Agatha/Peasant Woman, 40’s-50’s, an educated woman who finds rare moments of clarity through her mental illness. Dracula’s familiar. Doubles as other smaller roles.

Rehearsals: August 8th, 2025 – October 16th, 2025. NOTE: This rehearsal process is non-traditional. You may view a full calendar here.

Show Runs: October 17th, 2025 – November 2nd, 2025, with a possible extension to November 9th, 2025.

Pay: Stipend, $250
